Programs

Registration for fall programs begins Tuesday, August 26. Registration is required for all program unless otherwise indicated. Please register in-person or by telephone. (Telephone registration is accepted only when using a credit card.) Program fees are refundable when at least 48 hours notice is given. All kids under the age of 11 must have a parent or guardian stay in the library for the duration of the program. We accept cash, credit card, debit, or cheque.

LI-BEAR-Y HUNT
Join us for this Pre-school Fall Program Kick-off event.  Get familiar with the library as you help a teddy bear escape hibernation this winter!

Follow the path through the library and collect clues that guide you on a teddy bear hunt and lead you to a special teddy bear cave.  Once you have completed your search, you can enjoy a bear-y delicious snack and take home your very own teddy bear friend.

For children ages 2-5 and a parent/caregiver
This is a free event, but registration is required.
(Register early, as there are a limited number of
teddy bears to give away!)

WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD - SESSION ONE
This interactive and fast-paced program blends age-appropriate storytelling, scientific experiments, action games, and take-home activities that encourage children to recognize, discuss, and express what a wonderful world surrounds them.

ALPHABET SOUP
Alphabet Soup is a drop-in storytime program for preschoolers that provide an alphabetical and interactive exploration of children’s authors, books, poems, songs, and games featuring a fun weekly theme.  Each week, children take part in making an ever-growing pot of alphabet soup; will it boil over by the time we get to letter “Z”?!  Join us and find out! Registration is not required.

JR. Book Club
Bring your favorite books to life! Each week, you are encouraged to bring a book that you've enjoyed and show it to the group. You'll participate in fun activities based on the books you love. Feel free to bring a nut-free snack with you.

READY, SET...WRITE!
Attention young writers! Don't miss this chance to write down your stories and create new ideas in a fun and interactive environment. As well as writing, you will get to tour the Art Gallery, listen to music, create a group sculpture, explore nature and experiment with food to find new inspiration. After a short snack and a stretch break, you will take part in "publishing" one of your stories in a collection that will be displayed in the library. Note: a journal and pen will be provided. Please feel free to bring a nut-free snack.

Registration is required. There is no fee to become a member, but a library card in good shape (unexpired, free of fines) is a must.
